What's Proposed?
The City of Sarnia has received a complete application for a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment (Application No. 10-2024) under Section 34 of the Planning Act.
The lands subject to this application are located on the north side of Michigan Avenue, east of Murphy Road and west of Blackwell Road, directly across from Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School. The subject lands have a lot area of approximately 2,389m2 and a lot frontage of approximately 29.0m along Michigan Avenue. The lands are currently occupied by a sleep disorder clinic which has been proposed to be converted into eight (8) apartment dwelling units.
The purpose and effect of Zoning By-law Amendment No. 10-2024-85 of 2002 is to permit the development of eight (8) new residential apartment dwellings to be located within the existing two-storey building which occupies the subject lands.
The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to change the zoning of the subject lands to a site specific Urban Residential 4-28 (UR4-28) zone, containing site specific regulations for side yard setbacks and all other existing site conditions for Apartment Dwellings as set out in Section 10.2 of the Zoning By-law.
If approved, subsequent building permits will be required to implement the proposal.
