Community Libraries Project: Relocating the Lambton County Library Mallroad Location
The consultation portion of this project is now closed. A report will go to Council on February 8, 2021 based on community feedback.
Re-Imagining the Clearwater Arena
The City of Sarnia and Lambton County Library would like to know what you think about the creation of a Clearwater Arena Community Hub and the consideration of the relocation of Lambton County Library’s Mallroad location to the Clearwater Arena Upper Hall.
We envision the re-creation of this intimate community library space with a view into the arena below – with new modernized lighting and a complete renovation. This new space will offer an oasis for learning and exploration in a dynamic facility that is centrally located among other recreational facilities, next to the Howard Watson Trail, restaurants and retail. The new location is a short walk from Lambton College and Sherwood Village, a community of approximately 6,397 residents.
Creating a Community Hub
Through the creation of a Community Hub at Clearwater Arena, it is the hope to bolster Community Access to Recreation and Cultural Services, including library services for residents within Sarnia-Lambton
Recent models suggest that many municipalities are pursuing opportunities to consolidate community service offerings at centralized locations to provide a broader range of programming for residents - moving away from single purpose facilities.
