Consultation has concluded
On Friday, February 7 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm come explore Downtown and share your thoughts on a Pedestrian Only Street in the City of Sarnia.
Sarnia City Council has requested additional information on the possibility of establishing a pedestrian only area within a commercial business area, and whether such a development would enhance business opportunities and support tourism.
Staff have proposed a Pedestrian Street Pilot Project along Lochiel Street between Christina Street North and Front Street North. The temporary conversion of Lochiel Street would allow merchants, owners and members of the public an opportunity to explore the concept and provide feedback.
Upon completion of the pilot, staff will report back to the Sarnia City Council with a summary of the feedback, and outline the next steps.
